General Aftercare

Failure to follow the aftercare instructions may result in infection, pigment loss, or discoloration.

  • Apply ice after the procedure for 15 minutes then take it off for 15 minutes, then put ice back on for 15 minutes. Repeat 2-3 times. You may want to do this the next morning as well.
  • Arnica will reduce bruising or take 400mg of Ibuprofen to reduce swelling if needed.
  • Do not take a shower for 24 hours. Do not swim, be in a hot tub or sauna, or take a bath for 7 days (21 preferred).
  • Keep affected areas out of the sun. Don’t tan, swim, sit by the ocean, or use a hot tub for 5 days. Use sunscreen or Vaseline if you’re in the sun sooner.
  • After 7 days wear sunscreen daily to prevent fading. I recommend sunscreen Chapstick on brows.
  • Don’t do any exercise for 3 days (10 preferred) as excessive sweating can pull pigment out.
  • Use ointment given such as Bag Balm at least 2 times a day for a week.
  • Do not use soap, lotion, or ointment (other than what’s provided) on the affected area for 7 days following the procedure. You may use a slightly warm, brand-new washcloth and clean water. Lightly wash the procedure area at least 2-3 times a day.
  • Do not pick at scabs as your makeup heals! Doing so will pull the pigment out.
  • Don’t use Neosporin or Bacitracin; antibiotics will pull the pigment out.
  • Sleep elevated the first 3 days to prevent excessive swelling. Do not sleep on your face for 2 weeks to avoid infections.
  • Avoiding infection is very important. I sell nano silver that can be used in your eyes or on a Q-tip to clean the procedure area. This prevents infection and makes your cells repair faster for accelerated healing of the skin.
  • It is normal for the procedure area to scab, have color come off, look blotchy, look too light when color comes off. The color will darken back up in 3-4 weeks.
  • Schedule your touchup no sooner than 4-8 weeks later. Text at 385-355-4663.
  • Laser/pulsed light treatments can cause color change. It is important to advise the therapist that you have had permanent makeup, as this cannot be rectified with another procedure.
  • No makeup of any kind may be applied to any procedure for the first 7 days following the procedure. If you have to use makeup earlier, use brand new makeup applied with clean applicators or Q-tips to avoid infection.
